useful sentence patterns for suggestion form


1. I propose/suggest/recommend...+ subject+ bare infinitive


e.g. I suggest the school introduce some new games.


2. I (would) suggest+gerund


e.g I (would)suggest introducing some new games.


3. It would be sensible/advantageous/beneficial + to-infintive or if+past tense


e.g. It would be sensible to introduce some new games.
       It would be beneficial if we introduced some new games.


4. Subject+clearly has the responsibility + to-infinitive


e.g. Our school clearly has the responsibility to introduce new games. 


5. It is (high/about) time + [subject + past tense]/[for+subject+to-infinitive]


e.g. It is high time our school introduced some new games for our students.


6. Subject+ could/might consider +gerund


e.g. Our school might consider introducing some new games.


7. If possible, I do hope that +subject + verb+ object


e.g. If possible, I do hope that our school could introduce some new games.


8. Gerund + would be an excellent idea.


e.g. Introducing some new games would be an excellent idea.
