英文應用文系列(1):投訴信



昨日寫了封投訴電郵給百佳. 呢間嘢真係唔掂, 唔會再搵佢送貨. 

講番正題, 我呢封投訴電郵, 用咗幾句否定詞開首倒裝句,例如是under no circumstances, not until, only after等等, 一來語氣較正式, 二來,係突出了要投訴的事幾唔合理. 要直至(not until), 要等到(only after), (無理由)under no circumstances等等, 都好適合做投訴信的句子.

全文如下:

Dear Sirs

My wife placed an order with your firm for some groceries through your Parkenshop Direct service on [date] (Order No: XXXXXXX). It is very disappointing that the service was dissatisfying and has caused us a great deal of trouble. 

You promised that the thing would be delivered within the hours of 9 am to 1 pm on [date], so I waited at home all the morning. During the period, I have not received a call from your driver about when the goods would reach my home. Only after I called your office at 12:30 pm could I know the time of delivery. The goods then reached my home at around 1 pm. The delivery man received my money without saying anything. 

Later, I knew that three items were not delivered,including a watermelon. Your company demonstrated such poor communication because while we ordered the item wishing it can be delivered on time, only after I unpacked the package did I know the items were not delivered. I think you should let the customer know the food is not successfully ordered before delivery so that the customer can consider whether to continue the order. 

What is more unforgivable with your service is that you have made two mistakes in the delivered package. First, my wife ordered a Kellogg's Honey Crunch Corn Flakes, but it was missing. Second, the Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce turned into a Garlic Sauce. I thus called the office and it is promised that the Flakes would be delivered to me the following Monday morning, and, as your office staff said the Tomato Sauce was out of stock, I accept the Garlic Paste on the condition that I would compensate for the price difference (the Garlic Paste is a few dollars more expensive than the Tomato Paste). If I return the Garlic Paste for refund, ridiculously, the refund would only be saved in my wife's account. I decided to pay for the price difference  because under no circumstances would I buy with Parkenshop Direct service again.

My wife was waiting for the delivery on Monday morning. Once again, not until my wife called the office was she able to know when the delivery would be done. A few minutes after 1 pm, the delivery man rang the doorbell and gave the Corn Flakes to my wife, but at the same time asked her to return the Tomato Paste and also pay for the price difference. What a nuisance! I have already said we would pay for the price difference so it saved the effort of dealing with your company again . Why on earth should my wife give the Tomato Sauce and pay for the price difference at the same time? Had your staff been sleeping while working? My wife had to call the office again and spent precious minutes to talk to the staff to sort the thing out. We just need not return the Garlic Sauce. 

It is a shame for me as a member of Hong Kong citizens to receive such poor service from the so-called leading supermarket chain in Hong Kong. I hope the email could reach the management so that they know how rotten your brand has become from some customer's point of view.
