各類受詞(Object)的延後

i) 一般延後

The feminist critic may bring to light aspects of a text formerly unacknowledged or misunderstood as a result of the male-dominated critical tradition

評論: 由於賓語實在太長, 必須放在最後. 因此將adverbial部份(to light)前置.

They bought into my room the robe I had asked for.

Mary saw crouching among the bushes an animal which he thought might be a fox.

注意: 尤其用於受語有形容詞子句.

I am more than happy to discuss with anyone ideas for building their profile as an innovator in education.

又如：They pronounced guilty every one of the accused. 

object: every one of the accused 太長, 符合the principle of end-weight; 也可能every one of the accused 是句子重點, 放在最後符合the principle of end-focus。

ii) 加it 延後

賓語也會延後。例如: I hate that the passengers talk loudly on the train.

句中賓語是that子句:that the passengers talk loudly on the train. 這賓語太長了。我將其延後，又用it去取代原本的賓語位置：

I hate it that the passengers talk loudly on the train.

當句子包含受詞補語時，太長的受詞必須延後：

 Suan made that she didn't like me clear.

 要改為: Susan made it clear that she didn't like me.
