eg. When it comes to international sports such as the Olympics Games and the World Cup soccer game, some people believe that it creates goodwill between the nations and that if countries play games together they will learn to live together. Others say that the opposite is true: that international contests encourage false national pride and lead to misunderstanding and hatred. There is probably some truth in both arguments, but in recent years the Olympics Games have done little to support the view that sports encourage international brotherhood.

eg. Should doctors ever lie to benefit their patients-to speed recovery or to conceal the approach of death? People's attitude toward the doctor's lie varies from person to person. SOme see important reasons to lie for the patient's own sake; others think that truthful information should not be denied or distorted. But in medicine as in law, government and other lines of work, the requirements of honesty often seem dwarfed by greater needs: the need to shelter from brutal news or to uphold a promise of secrecy; to expose corruption or to promote the public interest.
